Pratas Shoal, I requested the Surveyor General M. Cleverly, and Lieutenant Poland, R.N., to take the matter in hand which they were good enough to do, and now have the honour to forward a very full and careful report from those Gentlemen, which will, I think, be found to supply all the information required on this subject by the Lords of the Committee for Trade.
2. I also transmit, as desired by their Lordships, a return showing the number, Tonnage, and nationality of vessels that have entered and cleared at this Port during the Year 1859, exclusive of those that have merely touched here in passing to or from some other port in the China Sea.
